Covered Girls Camp
The organizers of Covered Girls Camp led by Ps. Ebenezer Okronipa invited Mrs. Sandra Ayivor, one of the Executive Directors of the G.N.S Foundation to be one of the mentors for the Covered Girls Camp event. The theme for this great event was “Positioning the rural girl child for a prosperous Future”.
Twenty-one (21) girls between the ages of 10 to 19 years from five villages across four regions in Ghana was the first batch to undergo an intensive week-long training in Accra to build them holistically.
During the mentorship session, Mrs. Sandra Ayivor made these young girls feel very important. She encouraged them and gave them hope. She believed that through entrepreneurship and skills development, we will be able to empower girls to be financially independent and mentally equipped to defeat poverty.
The other mentors included Mr. Richmond Armah (Author), Ps. Dubik Mahama (Board Chairman NGAP), Ms Jacqueline Acquah (Founder, Cedar Sprouts). The conference started on the 2nd of September and ended on the 9th of September. The girls were housed and fed by Ps. Okronipa.
At the end of the one week, the twenty-one girls had had training in bead making/ good grooming, discipleship and instilling godly values in them and lastly personality development and confidence building.
We at the G.N.S Foundation believe that together we can all join forces together to make a difference. Support and let’s make that change.
