G.N.S Foundation wins excellence in women and child care development award at Ghana philanthropy awards
G.N.S Foundation has been crowned Excellence in Women and Child Care Development Award for their tremendous contributions towards identifying potential sickle cell cases early and educating the community on the importance of early detection and management of the disease at the 3rd edition of the Ghana Philanthropy Awards. This well-deserved recognition reflects their dedication and commitment to not only screen for sickle cell disease but also provide essential nourishment to children and ensuring they have the energy and good health needed to participate fully in everyday activities.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Sandra Ayivor and Gibeleen Amponsah Nimpong, the Executive Directors of G.N.S Foundation, the organization has made remarkable strides over the last decade to improve the health outcome of children in vulnerable communities. G.N.S goal is dedicated to specialising in sickle cell management and associated haematological diseases, Orphanages and Disability assistance, Youth and Women (Kayayo Antenatal) support as well as empowerment. The work G.N.S Foundation does is incredible, a significant initiative to combat sickle cell disease through a comprehensive screening and awareness campaign.
The 3rd edition of the Ghana Philanthropy Awards, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and organized by The Business Executive Group, seeks to recognize individuals and companies that play a significant role in promoting humanity’s growth and development, positively impacting their communities.
In a post-award interview after receiving this notable trophy, Madam Sandra Amponsah Ayivor expressed that the award is a testament to the foundation’s unwavering focus to help vulnerable people in the community. According to her, her outfit has been dedicated to the yearly screening of sickle cell disease in schools to create massive awareness on the devastating effects of the disease and how it has been a major hindrance to the younger generation from reaching their full potentials. She also extended her gratitude to the committed G.N.S team, family, sponsors, partners, and communities for their continuous support, which enables them to deliver on their promise of a better Ghana for all.
”We are grateful for such a wonderful milestone at this highest magnitude. We will continue to help children with sickle cell and create more awareness on the disease. I want to thank my partners for their tremendous support always,” Sandra noted with a smile.
Madam Sandra also mentioned that since the inception of the foundation in 2013, it has embarked on a number of projects including the donation to a sickle cell clinic, blood donation exercises, planting of trees in honour of fallen heroes, and the yearly screening exercise deepened their goals. GNS Foundation has positioned itself as a leader in the industry with credibility and reputation in the market and also setting benchmarks for others to follow.

G.N.S has worked underground for many years since 2013 until the organisation gained accreditation in early 2016.
