G.N.S Foundation Donation To Kayayo Girls
At night in many parts of Accra, many female head porters are seen sleeping in open spaces and this makes them vulnerable to the vagaries of the environment and violence from acquaintances and strangers.
These female head porters (kayayo) often come from distant rural communities in search for greener pastures in the urban areas. And they have to endure varied experiences as they climb the ladder of life.
“It is not Our wish to be a kayayo but we have no choice because we have no form of formal training or education to practice an acceptable vocation” report from some of the ladies in the Kayayo business.
Its so sad and pathetic to see our women go through this, as they strive in search for greener pastures. On 28th March, 2013 G.N.S Foundation made a donation to the kayayo Girls living on the streets of Accra.
The donation included foodstuffs, drinks and others. G.N.S Foundation has made a lot of donations to needy people living in Accra and are willing to extend help to all in other regions because at G.N.S Foundation we believe that help has to be extended to the needy in society to make life comfortable for them.
